English for Missionary Purposes

Module co-ordinator: John Alvis

The objective of this module is to provide an English Language bridge for students to the Training for Global mission modules. This module enables students to 'think' theology in English and be easily able to share all aspects of their Christian faith in English.

There are obvious advantages to re-thinking one's theology in the second language, in terms of spiritual and cultural enrichment, as well as in language practice.

In order to undertake such academic training effectively, students will need to have attained at least Pre-Intermediate standard (Level 3). In addition, the English Language teaching will include sessions linked to the Training for Global mission modules, so students can familiarise themselves with the relevant vocabulary.
