Students will make progress in four key areas of language: vocabulary , topic, grammar and communicative function relevant to the particular level.

For details of the standard of English that Kingfisher College requires from new students please see Pre-Intermediate English Standard (level 3).

This section of the course will improve student skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking English. This section of the course is further divided into Intermediate (level 4) and Upper Intermediate (level 5) classes.

An example of a 45-minute lesson is as follows:

Upper-Intermediate lesson:

Grammar points: narrative tenses (different forms of the past) and words that look or sound alike but have different meanings. 

Presentation: introduce topic of Air Travel; get students to talk about what is important to passengers; read and discuss an article about some "horror" stories; get students to talk about their own experiences.
